Colonial Forces Study Group (Qld)

Queensland Military History: 1860-1901

Welcome to the Colonial Forces Study Group

acoy1894The Colonial Forces Study Group (Qld) represents a group of historians and researchers who have joined together to collectively locate, collate, analyse and disseminate information and knowledge on the naval and military forces of colonial Queensland from 1860 to the establishment of the Commonwealth Military Forces in 1901.

This project will both celebrate and commemorate the lives of Queenslanders, both native born and immigrants, who were prepared to put the interests of the colony before their own. The results of the Group’s activities will be a growing educational resource and a tool for genealogical research.
